If you missed out on our November Quilting for Beginner's session, you are in luck! Norma is back with us to teach us more about quilting! By joining in this class, you will create a 63"x84" quilt top in one of the log cabin designs. This time, you purchase your own material (and thread) so you get to choose your colours and patterns! (I know I'm down for this one!!) You will also learn how to:
read a pattern
plan the layout of material and quilt pattern
use quilting tools
cut the material properly
sew a 1/4” straight seam in the assembly of your quilt top
This class is for adults only.
Sewing experience is an asset but is not an absolute must.
If you have your own sewing machine, bring it with you. This is not a requirement as there are 3 sewing machines available for use at the Visual Arts Centre BUT you are most familiar with your own machine, so why not use it?!
If you have access to any of the following sewing tools, please bring them with you (again, not a requirement as there will be some available for use at the class):
seam ripper
scissors for trimming the thread
straight pins
This class is Friday (March 14th) night (7 p.m. - 9 p.m.) and Saturday, March 15th (9 a.m. - 4 p.m. - or when you finish).
Space is limited to 7 participants.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
