A WORD FROM THE ARTIST:

My name is Maria Schigol and I started Scissors Creek Stitches in the spring of 2024. I have been sewing off and on for 20 years, and jumped into embroidery in 2023 after wanting to pursue it for years. Currently I run an Instagram account to showcase my work (@scissorscreekstitches) and have also sold some of my pieces at the MVAC craft show in July 2024. I hope to offer custom embroidery pieces in the near future. I reside with my partner and daughter in the Qu’Appelle valley, in a cozy little house right behind the beautiful Scissors Creek. I also work as a substitute teacher.
